Recent television advertising's featuring FPL "changing the current" theme is a thinly veiled attempt to get investment capital and maintain or stop the downward stock price from falling. This campaign may fool some investors because of its attractive dividends.

However while FPL trumpets the transition from fossil to solar in Florida  

Two wild elephants will reduce FPL's income and with it the dividends it pays.

One....  FPL's own customers are switching to solar panels as competitive co"s are becoming creative in financing some even offer renting to own Solar panel installation. This trend will only increase as utilities such as FPL increase prices and use heavy handed collection methods and lobbying for creative new surcharges for the same product that cost less and less to produce by FPL.

TWO.... Sea level rise.

By 2025.. 2030 sea level of only 8 inches  Just about 125 months away from today FPL stock price will worth 1/4 of today's price...

As coastal cities in the state of Florida are predicted to be facing salt water so will Revenue for FPL will drop... The Graphic below gives an estimate on how many customers FPL will lose in the very near future.

Here is an unseen consequence... As people abandon the state and their properties, the GOVERNMENTS of those cities will NOT be able to pay the promised pensions because property values will be -O-

"FPL said it has secured solar sites across the state to build solar energy centers, and some will be in South Florida. They include two 74.5-megawatt solar energy centers in Palm Beach County, each with about 310,000 solar panels, according to FPL spokesman Chris McGrath.

The program would increase solar energy to about 20 percent of FPL’s energy mix by 2030. It’s about 1 percent now, according to the utility, which uses mostly natural gas and nuclear energy."
